Data Science for Nutrition and Health

This academic year, for the first time, Masters students in Nutrition and Health at Wageningen University had the opportunity to attend a course on data science tailored to their domain expertise. Interest in the topic has been growing within the field. With the rise of projects like BigO, the need for domain experts with data science skills is also growing. Project scientists participating in the BigO project were involved as course lecturers and domain experts.

The BigO webinar was an optional course activity. However, quite a few of the students expressed interest in the subject and attended the webinar. A slowly but steadily growing student population is gaining data science insights and skills, which will trickle down into the field over time. This is great news for the future of projects such as BigO!
