Anna Thoresen

Anna Thoresen holds a BEd teaching and a GradDipArts (History) from Massey University, Palmerston North, New Zealand. She is currently undertaking a Masters in Sociology of Education at Uppsala University, Sweden.

Anna has over 15 years experience working in education, both as a teacher and a manager in primary and high schools in New Zealand, France and Sweden. She started her teaching career as a primary school classroom teacher, and, after further studies she taught History and
beginners French at St Peter’s College, Palmerston North, New Zealand. In 2008/2009, Anna received a scholarship to study and work in Angers, France where she studied French language at Université Catholique de l’Ouest and taught English at a local high school. In 2010, She moved to Uppsala, Sweden and continued her teaching career at Kvarngärdesskolan for one year, before taking a position at Internationella Engelska Skolan.

Over the past 8 years, Anna has been working as Head of Junior School, and Assistant Principal at Internationella Engelska Skolan, Uppsala, where she worked as part of the management team in a school of 740 students. Anna is now working at Internationella Engelska Gymnasiet as the BigO project coordinator for schools in Sweden
