Ioannis Ioakeimidis

Ioannis Ioakeimidis is an associate Professor in Karolinska Institute, Department of Biosciences and Nutrition, with a PhD in Medical Science from the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm Sweden and a BSc in Biology from the University of Crete, Greece. He has significant experience in eating and physical activity behavioral research in healthy and clinical populations. The majority of his research focuses on the development of digital health tools and their use for the quantification, evaluation and modification of behaviours of children, adolescents and older adults, always targeting the improvement of health in individuals and populations. In the past, Ioannis has also worked as Research and Development project leader for private health providers in Sweden, for the integration of novel behavioural digital tools into clinical practices. Ioannis is currently the Swedish PI for two H2020 health/ICT EU projects (BigO and iPrognosis), while in the past he was also PI for the SPLENDID FP7 project. In BigO, Ioannis is coordinating the efforts for the collection of the User requirements and the Evaluation of the BigO platform. Ioannis is also involved in various other tasks across the project, while he is also the Ethics and Safety Manager of the project
